The JV Conference meet was a non-scoring meet, so we did not receive an overall team score. However, it was a great opportunity for the JV girls to compete one more time. Official results are available here. The top 3 in each event earned medals. The WO girls represented the team well- there were several PRs established and several who earned medals.
Medalists were:
The 4X800 relay team of Maddie Kobylski, Sonya Collins, Alyssa Misiak, and Katherine Hoekstra placed 2nd overall running a time of 11:03.2.
Natalie Dunn had a strong finish and come from behind effort to win the 400. She ran a new PR of 1:06.33.
Maddie Kobylski ran tough in the 800 placing 2nd with a season best time of 2:34.97.
Jaylee Rithamel had a strong last lap to take first in the 2 mile run with a new PR time of 12:56.7.
In the field events, Katie Repesh was 2nd overall in the pole vault, clearing 7'0".
Bella Correa placed 3rd in the discus, throwing a PR distance of 93'.5"; which also earned her a varsity letter by surpassing 93'.
Sophie Coppersmith just missed medaling in long jump, she was 4th, but jumped a major PR and earned her varsity letter by jumping 15'.25".
Natalie Dunn also PR'd in the high jump, clearing 4'6" and tied for 3rd overall.
Others who established new PRs were:
Sarah Olney cleared a bar for the first time in pole vault.
Victoria Roubos threw 66'2" in the discus- 7ft further than her previous PR.
Naomie Bailey and Jazmyn Patterson both threw PRs in shot put.
Jayda Hoang finally broke 7 mins in the mile, running 6:57.9.
Jayda Hoang & Maya Lee ran PRs in the 800.
Katherine Hoekstra, Alyssa Misiak, and Mady Kobylski ran season best times in the 800.
Kaylee Comai, Sydney Bolt, and Sarah Olney all ran PRs in the 400.
Lizzie Equiluz and Noelani Crame ran PRs in the 200.
Lastly, the highlight of the meet to me was Sydney Bolt's effort in the 4X400. I wish I could bottle up that effort and share it with the rest of the team. It was the exact effort and determination that we talked about at the beginning of Monday's practice.
It was a great finish to the season for our JV athletes. Nice job ladies!
