Yes, there were a few key injuries that prevented a few of the athletes from fully competing...Morgan had a rough fall in the hurdles and she will be looking to bounce back quickly.
However, as a team- we had 42 PRs established in the meet last night. WOW! That is 15 more than our meet against Hudsonville. This is huge for us as we continue to rise up together as a team.
Two event groups in particular had great days- the throwers and mid- and long distance groups. All but one thrower had a PR in the discus and several had prs in the shot put.
The distance group had a big day in the 3200 relay- dropping 9 sec off their time. Several 800 and 1600 runners had significant prs.
Another record was broken last night: Iris Swarthout broke the freshmen mile record of 5:17.84 set in 1981 by Kris Bale, by running a 5:16.41.
